The Story
Amanda has always held an inquisitiveness and passion for animals since a young age. She has been studying dog training methods since the early 2000’s and was initially turned off to the industry due to the inhumane approach commonly taken with methods such as compulsion training. Her interest in dog training was rekindled while learning more about evidence backed dog training methods that minimize stress to the dog in 2014 while training her dog to an advanced level. As she became very interested in learning the most compassionate yet effective ways to teach and modify behavior with dogs, she started preparing to enter the world of professional dog training by studying, working with a variety of dogs, and becoming mentored in preparation for certification. Once becoming a professional dog trainer and having seen so much conflicting and misleading advice floating around pertaining to dog training, and having known what it’s like to not know where to turn in a completely unregulated industry, she decided she wanted to help others by creating a dog training company. With the help of her spouse and friends, Intailigent was formed.
